LAUNCH OF THE CWU REGIONAL SAFETY WEBSITE
As one of the NW CWU Branches involved in Health and Safety issues we try to publicise Safety as widely as possible, covering items from all across our Branch area. To have the greatest impact we have a very strong Safety structure including all Branches. Between us we have created the NW BT Unions Website. Derek Maylor (BTU Chairperson) gave this opinion.
"The North West Telecommunications Safety Co-ordinating Committee is committed to provide a first class service for the safety needs of all workers in our industry. We are formed with a representative from all the telecommunication trade union branches in the Northwest."
All Branches are able to contribute information to the site to keep users informed of any current issues, we also include information resourses for items such as DSE and Asbestos. If this site does not have the information you require then try www.unionsafety.co.uk
If you want to get information onto the site then just email us via the link at the bottom of this page.

GOVERNMENT CONSULTATIONS
Added 16/02/05. Did you know that your opinion is requested by the Government on a regular basis? The answer is probably no.
Every year hundreds of consultations are launched by all levels of government. You can find a complete list of Government Consultations at www.consultations.gov.uk. Topics are wide and varied and include many related to Health & Safety. As a Branch and Region we are able to discuss and comment on many of the issues, however we are able to have a greater impact if more of us express our views.
The Branch will endevour to keep you up to date with all the consultations that might change your working conditions, in return you can let us know about any issues you want to have publicised on this site.
Go on HAVE YOUR SAY!
